Dr Peter Scriven
MBChB (Sheffield 1999) MRCS MPhil MRCGP

Divisional Director Royal Primary Care

I trained in medicine at the University of Sheffield, graduating in 1999. I initially trained as a Surgeon and undertook an extended period of research on how cancers become resistant to chemotherapy drugs.

I left surgery in 2011 to pursue a different work | life balance. I have been working as a GP in the Derbyshire and Yorkshire region for several years. I am happy to see any problems but my areas of interest are gastrointestinal disease (tummy and bowel problems), central sensitivity syndromes (fibromyalgia, CFS), mens health and minor surgery. I also have an interest in app based connected health care.

As Divisional Director I am responsible and accountable for the redevelopment and improvement of Royal Primary Care across Chesterfield and Clay Cross. Presently this means I usually see patient on 2 days of the week and spend the rest of the week leading the redevelopment of Royal Primary Care.

Dr Adrian Beltran Martinez

Genetics and Research Lead

I studied Medicine in Seville (Spain) where I am originally from and finished my degree in 2011. I started my training as a GP in 2012 in Seville, being awarded my full GP license in 2016. After becoming fully qualified, I started working in a small village as a rural doctor for 3 months. Then I left my country to move to the UK to pursue better working conditions and to be able to grow personally and academically. I have been practising as a GP in Chesterfield area since 2017 and I have been a part of Royal Primary Care since April 2018 as a Salaried GP.

I am really interested in Rare and Genetic diseases, which is why I am undertaking currently a MSc in Genetics to build up my skills in this area. I would like to become a GPwSI in Genetics and I am the Genetics / Research lead at RPC. As well, I really like paediatrics and respiratory diseases.
